PROPOSITION 3: AUTHORIZATION FOR INCREASED LIBRARY FUNDING
Shall the following resolution be adopted, to wit:
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Education Law, Section 259, the Board of Education of the Newfane Central School District (the “District”) is authorized to levy and collect an annual tax, year after year, separate and apart from the annual District budget, in the amount of $139,150 USD for the purpose of funding the operating budget of the Newfane Public Library (the “Library”). This value represents a proposed increase of $9,103 from the previous appropriation, and will be applied to rising operating costs, expanding the Library collections and services to include local attraction passes, computer access, Library programs, access to digital collections and services via the Library website. These appropriated amounts shall be the annual appropriation until thereafter modified by a future vote of the electors of the District.
